How has having a computer and LCD projector in your classroom changed the way you teach? the way you assess learning? the way students interact in class? etc?
Being able to use the computer-projection system in my classroom has improved my instruction to a great degree! I can call up the National Debt and watch the clock increase as we discuss the ramifications of paying or not paying it off. I can project images of the Russian Tsars while groups debate the aspects of reform in 19th century. It has lent invaluable support to my teaching.
Having a computer-projection system in my classroom has allowed me to integrate technology into my lessons like never before. For example, last week I used the system to play a piece from National Pubic Radio on gentrification in Washington DC, in my AP Human Geography class. I also presented a slide presentation from NPR that showed changes in a Washington DC neighborhood since the riots following Martin Luther King's assassination in 1968.
